Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, & Business Strategy

About

|| Garrett Lowen Dobbs

I am passionate about solving problems and bringing new value to market. I am a futurist, applying a divergent thinking methodology to an understanding of new technologies in order to achieve strategic innovation. I believe that business interest and social interest are not exclusive to one another, and that it is the task of the 21st century business to do well by doing good.

I learned mechanical engineering at Stanford University, industrial design at ArtCenter College of Design, and business at the Peter F. Drucker School. I have crunched numbers, drawn schemas, led teams, built prototypes, presented to executives, sourced vendors, managed production schedules, conducted user research -- and I am constantly seeking new and greater challenges. I have worked with businesses with over $15M ARR and I have squeezed pennies with startups.

Like any good designer I take comfort in uncertainty, approaching open-ended problems with a method of thinking that is analytical, innovative, and uniquely creative. Every day I wake up excited to put my diverse education and experience to work, bringing new value to businesses through a holistic and informed design process.
